We recommend having your furnace cleaning and maintenance completed annually in the fall before turning on the furnace for the heating season. This allows us to be there when the furnace starts up for the first time and to be able to thoroughly check the system for any possible issues and proactively solve any problems before they start.

Regular tune-ups reduce repairs over the life of a system. Fewer repairs mean your heating system costs less to operate. Not only that, a properly maintained furnace runs more efficiently for longer, sometimes lasting twenty years or more. By cleaning, inspecting connections, lubricating moving parts, checking system controls and ductwork and the blower motor, the specialists from Quality Comfort will save you money on both utility bills and system breakdowns. Your heating service expert may recommend a blower wheel cleaning if your blower motor is found to be very unclean. Having a dirty furnace blower motor can cause several problems including reduced air flow, which means reduced comfort for you, and a dirty blower wheel can also cause the furnace’s heat exchanger to overheat, causing need for a furnace replacement.
Furnace Cleaning Included
Included in your annual maintenance is also a furnace cleaning. We vacuum and clean out the dust and dirt that has built up in the unit.
What if my furnace is newer? Do I still need a tune up?
Yes, we recommend having fall furnace maintenance even if your furnace is relatively new (at least 1 year old). We think of it like we think of your car. Just because the car is new doesn’t mean the oil doesn’t need changed in order for it to continue to work properly and efficiently. The same goes for your furnace. To make sure buildup doesn’t occur inside the unit and everything stays in the best working condition, maintenance is required.
Maintaining Your Warranty
Did you know that regular maintenance on your HVAC system is required to maintain certain warranties? If you have a home warranty or a manufacturer’s warranty on your heating and cooling system, then regular maintenance is required to be performed in order to keep your protection intact. This is also the case with Quality Comfort’s comprehensive labor warranties provided on all of our furnace installations. Maintaining your equipment responsibly will save you in operating costs annually and parts and labor costs that may be covered under warranty should any part of your system fail.
Change Your Filter
An important part of maintaining your heating system beyond just getting your annual tune up is changing your furnace filter. Dirty air filters can cause your furnace to overheat and short cycle. The decrease in airflow will also cause your furnace to work harder than it needs to, leading to an increase in monthly energy bills. How often you should change your filter depends on many unique factors of your home and your family. To make remembering to change your filter easy, we offer free filter delivery through our sister company. Filter Wiz.
If you have your filters readily available during your tune up with us, we’ll be happy to change the filter for you – just let us know!
